Cookie Policy
The cookies we use
Introduction
This policy aims to explain how this website uses cookies in order to provide clear and
relevant information enabling users to make their own choices in order to control what happens when they
access the site. The policy uses the term ‘cookie’ to refer to information files that store, on the user’s
computer, the browsing carried out on the Internet in order to speed up and optimise searching, and to similar technologies
covered by the law (such as, for example, Local Shared Objects – commonly referred to as “flash cookies”, web
beacons or bugs, including transparent clear gifs). The information collected concerns data that could make it possible to
identify users / visitors through association and processing with data held by third parties (such as, for
example, IP address numbers and domain names of the computers used by people who connect to the website).
These data are used for statistical purposes only.
This document is an integral and substantial part of the Privacy Policy and of the notice contained therein,
also issued pursuant to EU Regulation no. 2016/679 (GDPR). You are therefore invited to read that document.
Applicable law
The matter is governed by European Directive 2002/58 /EC – subsequently amended by Directive 2009/136 /EC
and transposed into the national legislation of the Member States of the European Union – which requires consent to be obtained
for cookies and similar technologies.
What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file, generally made up of letters and numbers, downloaded onto a device when the user
accesses the website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating site on each subsequent visit. Cookies are useful
because they allow a website to recognise a user’s device.
The use of cookies and similar technologies has long been commonplace, as cookies are important in the
provision of many online services. The use of these technologies is therefore not prohibited by law, but it requires that
the user be informed about cookies and be offered the possibility of accepting them or not.
Different types of cookies
Session and persistent cookies
Cookies may expire at the end of a browser session (that is, from when a user opens the browser window
until they exit the browser) or they may be stored for longer.
Session cookies – allow websites to link a user’s actions during a browser session. They
may be used for a variety of purposes, such as remembering what a user has put in their shopping basket
while browsing a site. They could also be used for security when a user accesses internet
banking or to facilitate the use of web-mail. These session cookies expire after a browser session.
The use of so-called session cookies (which, in any case, are not stored persistently on the user’s
computer and are deleted automatically as soon as the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the
transmission of data (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) which identify the specific session and
are necessary to allow safe and efficient browsing. The so-called session cookies used on this site
avoid recourse to other computer techniques that are potentially detrimental to the confidentiality of users’ browsing
on the web.
Persistent cookies – are stored on users’ devices between separate browser sessions and make it possible
to remember the user’s actions on a site. Persistent cookies may be used for a variety of
purposes, including remembering users’ preferences and choices when using a site (or in some cases
across different websites).
“First-party” and “third-party” cookies – Whether a cookie is ‘first-party’ or ‘third-party’ is strictly
connected to the website or domain that uses that particular cookie. “First-party” cookies are, in essence, the
cookies set by the same website visited by the user – that is, the site displayed in the URL window: in our
case, the cookies set by https://www.repiano.it “Third-party” cookies are cookies that are set by a
domain other than the one visited by the user: that is, cookies that are set by websites other than
https://www.repiano.it When you visited https://www.repiano.it Google Analytics set the cookie called ‘_ga’
through the domain gstatic.com , this specific cookie is a “third-party” cookie.
Data controller
Local web, as identified in the Privacy
policy, is the data controller of – and is responsible for – its own cookies only, that is, “first-party” cookies;
conversely, “third-party” cookies fall under the control of the respective companies concerned, identified
in the table contained in this document.
Consent for cookies
Some cookies are strictly necessary for the proper functioning of the Internet and do not require the user’s
consent, such as those that ensure the content of a page is loaded quickly and
effectively, the distribution of the workload across different computers, or those intended to ensure security.
Other cookies are still reasonably necessary or important, but are not strictly essential and
therefore require the user’s consent.
This site implements various techniques for collecting the user’s consent: one method is selecting the
specific box on the cookie banner published on the site’s landing page, which highlights the use of cookies.
Browser settings are another means of giving consent or, conversely, of refusing
cookies; the user can set the browser to be warned of the presence of cookies, allowing them to
decide whether or not to accept the cookies. It is also possible to refuse all cookies automatically by enabling
the relevant option in the browser.
Each browser provides instructions for this purpose.
Withdrawal of consent
Your consent to the use of cookies may be withdrawn at any time, although withdrawal could have an
impact on the functionality of the website.
Disabling cookies
Cookies are linked to the browser used and can be disabled directly from the browser, thereby
refusing/withdrawing consent to the use of cookies. Please bear in mind that disabling cookies
could prevent the proper use of some functions of the site itself. Instructions for disabling
cookies can be found on the following web pages:
